Today we went to Caorle, which is about an hour south of us, right along the Adriatic coast, a little east of Venice. We debated going to Caorle (pronounced Kay-OR-lay, I think) or up to the mountains, but decided that we probably wouldn’t be able to do much hiking in the mountains since there is still snow up there. So we headed to the beach, and I’m glad we did.
Caorle was pretty much dead, but most places along the coast aren’t very inhabited this time of year. I can imagine that this town is hopping during the warmer months though. It very much reminded me of a European version of Destin, FL and I would like to take Abbie back sometime when it’s warmer so she can play on the beach more.
We mainly wanted to get out of the house to put our new camera to the test, and in my opinion, it passed with flying colors… quite literally. We figured out a few new (to us) features of the camera, and got LOTS of great photos. This isn’t even a third of them, but all of these are SOOC (straight out of camera – aka unedited).
I like the way these two turned out.
It’s hard to not be in a good mood when you’re surrounded by so many bright colors.
No, the tower isn’t leaning, it was just the angle the photo was taken at.
Many of the rocks on the right side of this walkway were carved into various things.
Abbie was quite the collector on our walk. She was picking up so much stuff she couldn’t carry it all.
A bell tower and light house in one!
I liked how these pictures turned out too. Seriously, this camera is amazing.
The churches in Europe are beautiful.
Most of the cemeteries here have walls around them.

I really love the bright colors in all the pictures-building, flowers, boats and all! The city looks beautiful!
those are beautiful pictures!
I want to go there now! NExt on my list....Glad you had a good time!
GREAT pics Monica--y'all are such a cute little family :)
your new camera is awesome!
What kind of camera is it? LOVE the pictures!!! It is actually making me miss Italy more than I thought I would...DEFINITELY envious of the gelato! LOL Oh! And just be aware in the warmer/summer/beach months that a) traffic is HORRIBLE to get to the beach, backing up for HOURS, and b) Europeans tend to go topless at the beach. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's out of the ordinary for a beach to NOT be at least a partially nude beach...lol
What beautiful pictures! Makes me want to go on vacation. :)
Visiting from the Mil Spouse Weekly Roundup. Have a great weekend!
