- The best thing my parents taught me to do when I was a child was to stand up for what I believe in and to drive a stick..
- However, one thing I wish they did differently was to not be so judgmental. Most of my friends were (and are) afraid of them.
- One thing I’ve always wanted to try but haven’t is to make my own clothes. I just don’t have the time and patterns kind of intimidate me at times.
- One thing I never thought I’d try but I have is quilting. It never even crossed my mind that I would enjoy it until I actually tried it. And I don’t really even remember why I started quilting, but I’m hooked!!!
- If I could give my 16-year-old self one piece of advice I’d tell myself to not sweat the small stuff and to be very thankful for the friends I had (and still have)!!

I was not ever and am not now afraid of your parents. Not even a little. I like them.
Also, I'm happy to be one of those friends that your 16-year-old self (and much younger self) still keeps in touch with.
I loved quilting... before I had an accident with the sewing machine. I wrote about it and was accepted into a Chicken Soup for the Soul anthology but didn't make the final edit. Maybe I'll post it on my blog after all these years. Thanks for reminding me! Hope you're having a great weekend!
