Ben at 6 months

It’s hard to believe Ben is half a year old already!  I think time goes by faster with the 2nd child – after 3-4 months anyway.  I don’t have his 6 month stats yet since his appointment isn’t until the 29th.

I cannot get over how different my kids are.  It is like night and day difference with their personalities.  Ben is SO laid back.  I am VERY glad that Abbie was our first and Ben is our second.  I think probably any baby would seem easier after Abbie, but Ben really is a great baby.  If he’s fussy, he’s tired or hungry or needs to be burped or changed.  At least 90+% of his waking hours, he’s all smiles.

Ben LOVES to watch Abbie.  She absolutely cracks him up.  If she is around, his eyes are glued onto her at all times and he watches her run circles around him, which she does quite frequently.  She’s a great big sister and loves entertaining Ben.  He loves grabbing his feet when he’s on his back and has recently started staring at his hands like he’s just noticed them.  When he’s impatient, he either swings his right arm up and down or kicks his right foot.

He’s in size 3 diapers and sized 6-9 month clothes.  He drinks four 8-9 oz bottles a day and he eat baby food 1-2 times a day, always finishing at least 1 jar/pouch of baby food, usually two.  He goes to bed around 8-8:30pm and gets up between 8 and 9am (yes, that is almost 13 hours of sleep at times).  If we’re home he’ll nap for 1-1.5 hours in the morning, and then he’ll nap for 2-3 hours in the afternoon.  If he only naps for 2 hours during the afternoon, sometimes we’ll give him another hour nap in the early evening.  He’s SUPER easy to put down still, thank God.

He still doesn’t sit up much on his own yet.  He can if you put him in position.  He’ll stay there for 30 seconds to a minute before he topples over.  And he still hasn’t figured out how to roll front to back.  He has been rolling back to front for a few months now, but hasn’t figured out that he can roll front to back.  He loves to be surprised and has recently started belly laughing a little, which is cute.  And he is still SUPER ticklish.  He loves his baths and he likes his paci still too.  He can easily pass objects back and forth between his hands and he loves to stand on his feet and wave his arms all over the place.
